La Croisade Pinot Noir 2017

La Croisade Pinot Noir 2017

*Price per six bottle case

La Croisade is in reference to the Albigensian crusade of the 13th century against the free thinking Cathars of the Languedoc and the Simpsons’ crusade to champion non-traditional grape varieties at Sainte Rose.

This was the first harvest from 3 year old vines and the Pinot Noir grapes were carefully hand picked and cold soaked to extract colour and flavour pre-fermentation.

The wine was aged for 8 months in second use French oak barrels, before being lightly filtered and bottled in June 2018 to retain the soft yet refined tannins.

This Pinot Noir is elegant and ripe with aromas of morello cherry and wild strawberry, with deep blackcurrant flavours and chocolate undertones.
