I was invited to answer the following question over at Mirabeau: I’ve been to a vineyard one year – sampled their pinotage and it was stunning – simply incredible. The very next year I went back to the same vineyard and sampled that year’s vintage and it tasted like rotten eggs – really horrible. At Domaine Sainte Rose we use both types of closure, but if given a choice we would always choose screwcap. Why? At the moment, it is quite simply the safest, cleanest, most anaerobic (free of oxygen) closure readily available on the market. Want the detail? Read on ...

Languedoc and luxury are two words that have not often been combined when it comes to wine. At Sainte Rose we think we're changing that! The Languedoc has for too long been associated with the cheaper, bulk end of the wine market. This was historically correct as the region became incredibly prosperous producing this type of product for the working class market during the industrial revolution. Although this has changed, the reputation stuck. We saw this as a challenge when we established our business here.
