Although a symbol of the south, this rosé is actually a rare and limited edition wine made at Sainte Rose in very small quantities. An elegant blend of early picked Grenache and Syrah, this rosé has a pleasing pale strawberry colour; aromas of grapefruit and pear drops; and luscious summer fruit flavours. Drink it chilled at any time of year!
As with all the grapes grown at Domaine de Sainte Rose, the varieties for our rosé were picked at night to protect the juice and to bring the fruit into the winery at a moderate temperature. They are vinified separately in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks,
Colour: Pale, crushed Strawberry pink
Nose: Fresh cherry and grapefruit with a subtle hint of pear drops
Palate: Good acidity and balance up front with luscious summer fruit flavours and a wonderfully smooth mouthfeel
Drink: Now until 2017
Available vintages: 2015
What the critics say
Not all good rosé comes from Provence, as this bottle from a modern, family-run estate from the heart of the Languedoc demonstrates. A more full-bodied affair, with Shiraz and Grenache, it is excellent with lighter summer meals such as simple grilled chicken or fish with salad or any seafood.

This Pays d'Oc wine has a light to medium cherry colour, and is an early-picked blend of Grenache and Syrah. Fairly muted aromatically, raspberry and redcurrant comes through, a touch of creaminess, but very discreet. On the palate the fruit shines through with a certain ripe and sweet-edged attack, and the freshness of this is very good, shimmering and long and even a touch mineral and salty in the very dry finish. Impressive and well priced. 88/100

2012 International Wine Challenge- Commended!
A nice soft, easy drinking wine with crisp, pure flavours. But a pleasant weight too that should accompany food well.
